It was a warm afternoon on the 10th of May, when the cadets of NJ-761 held the annual Flag Ceremony. For a select few, it was the culmination of weeks of practice. For others, it was a solemn ceremony filled with many valuable moments.
Guidon Bearers, Flight Commanders, Color Guard Members, and Choir Members (just to name a few) all spent countless hours striving to perfect their roles in the ceremony. For example, Guidon Bearers focused on building enough strength to hold the Guidon for the duration of the National Anthem. At the same time, the Choir strived to perfect their singing of the national anthem.
The Flag Ceremony marked not only the end of the day, but of the school year for the cadets, with summer vacation only a month away.
Cadets were able to take many things away from the ceremony. One was an appreciation of how fast a school year can pass. Another was the importance of the chain of command, as heard with the commands making their way from the group down to the squadron, and flight commanders.
As the ceremony drew to a close, the cadets went back home with a feeling of satisfaction, regarding both the ceremony and their completion of another school year.
