The CyberPatriot team does it again. The scores for the February CyberPatriot competition came out today, and our team placed 3rd in the nation for the Leidos Digital Forensics challenge. Out of all the competing JROTC schools in the nation, our team placed THIRD! The competition was 6 hours long and the cadets were given various strings of code which they then had to decrypt. Using various softwares, as well as by hand, they were able to decrypt these lines of code within this 6 hour limit. They worked tirelessly during the snowstorm, giving up their Sunday and performed with great success. Cadet Rohan, a member of the team, stated "It was a lot of hard work, but it really paid off." The team will be receiving an award from CyberPatriot in recognition of their outstanding performance, and will hope to perform at this same level of excellence in the future.
February's Cadet Assembly was an exciting assembly, where we celebrated the accomplishments of our cadets. To start off, cadets who showed excellence were promoted to their next rank. For example, two flight commanders, Katina Frank and Julian Hardy, were promoted to C/TSgt. In addition, several cadets were recognized for their participation in the Cyber Patriot competition. These 10 cadets were given certificates for their excellent work throughout the course of the competition. After that, new members of the Kitty Hawk Air Society were officially inducted. These 12 cadets recited the Kitty Hawk Air Society pledge and are now members of our amazing program. They were rewarded for their service to the community and for their selflessness. Lastly, the results of the Honor Flight Competition were announced. Congratulations to the Echo-1 Flight for winning the prestigious title of Honor Flight, and congratulations to all those who were promoted.
